SANTA CRUZ III

This project was part of an overall home renovation. The homeowners wanted the garden to be an extension of the colorful and highly personalized interior of their home — a space for entertaining both adults and children. The patio accommodates outdoor dining and relaxation and provides a fun place for the homeowners’ young daughter and her friends to play — the artificial turf spiral wraps around a covered sandbox.

Along the back of the property, another patio of recycled art glass was created next to a creek which runs year round. The old wood retaining wall along the creek was replaced with a stone wall and bridge.

This garden was featured in the June 2009 issue of Sunset Magazine.
