SANTA CRUZ I

This garden is entered through a small courtyard, planted with classic Mediterranean plants, that opens to a large central courtyard where fruit trees and grape vines thrive. There is plenty of space, here, for young children to play and ride their bikes. The paving throughout is acid-stained concrete embellished with Italian tile.

In the back yard is a small patio where the family can enjoy al fresco dining. A custom fountain anchoring one end of the patio and a multi-height rustic arbor serve to screen an unattractive shed on the adjacent property. Here, the garden is enclosed with alternating sections of smooth-finished stucco walls and “green fences” constructed of wire sandwiched between wood posts and covered with evergreen vines.
