SANTA CRUZ I

PROJECT TYPE

  1. ESTABLISHED

This garden is comprised of three distinct sections.  The property is entered through a small courtyard, planted with classic Mediterranean plants, that opens to a large central courtyard where fruit trees and grape vines thrive.  At the back is a  small patio where the family enjoys al fresco dining. A custom fountain anchoring one end of the patio and a multi-height rustic arbor serve to screen an unattractive shed on the neighboring property.

The paving throughout is acid-stained, colored concrete with decorative Italian tile embellishments.

A rustic, bi-level arbor, built of rough-hewn posts and beams and hand-split rafters, provides shade on the back patio. The wall fountain was custom designed and built on-site.

The garden was enclosed with alternating sections of smooth-finished stucco walls and “green fences” constructed of wire sandwiched between wood posts and covered with evergreen vines.
